Shannon Landis
Mixed-Age Kindergarten Lead
Shannon learned about Waldorf education from Rahima Baldwin's newsletter Informed Homebirth, Informed Parenting in the 80's before Baldwin's book You Are Your Child's First Teacher was published and this book is still changing lives. Waldorf education and its foundation in anthroposophy gives Shannon hope for our world.
As a child she lived in Kansas, Missouri, Illinois and even Texas, yet Kansas City was home. She has lived the last 30 years in Viroqua Wisconsin and worked as a Waldorf Early Childhood Teacher at the Pleasant Ridge Waldorf School.
She attended the Rudolf Steiner College in the late 90's and received a Waldorf early childhood teaching certificate. She also worked as a registered nurse in midwifery, psychiatry and elder care
She loves working with parents and children creating outdoor play spaces and gardens.
She experiences much joy facilitating children's play, nurturing their curiosity and imagination, sharing delicious wholesome meals and discovering daily gratitude and reverence for life.
