Willie Armstrong

ART TEACHER

Born and raised in the diverse culture of Los Angeles, Willie Armstrong brings us a rich art experience. Whether it is by drawing, painting or other hand craft, he believes strongly that the process of art can teach us much more about ourselves than one may expect. The struggles, the "ah-ha" moments and accomplishments, all push us with positive momentum towards "I can".

Willie earned his degree in Art from Cal State University, Northridge, graduating Cum Laude. The focus of his studies began with figure drawing, illustration and art history where he immersed himself in the spirit of the old masters, color theory and classical processes. He later moved into philosophy and modern art, breaking from traditional ways of art making into new abstract concepts and mixed media approaches to creating. He has spent the last 20 years working in the fashion industry with big brands as well as with factories in India, where he spent 5 of those years learning the garment making process from raw cotton to finished product.

Willie moved to the Texas Hill Country in 2022 with his wife Paulina (Kinder assistant teacher) and two children. They have been proactive members of the Waldorf education and community for more than a decade and come with a reverence for the Steiner Anthroposophy. They love nature, music and all things creative.
